How Do You Connect The Hopper To The Internet?

Connecting your Hopper DVR system to your home internet is incredibly easy. If you are using a wired connection, simply plug your ethernet cord into the back of your Hopper device. If you are trying to connect to a wireless account follow these steps:

  1. Select the “Menu” option on your DISH Remote
  2. Select the “Settings”  icon
  3. Select the “Network Setup” icon
  4. Select the “Broadband” icon

When you first try to connect your Hopper to your wireless internet you should see a screen that says “Network Setup” after you have gotten into your settings menu. Highlight “Network Setup” then click the red button on your DISH remote. This should pull up a popdown menu where you will select “Wireless”.  Once you have selected the wireless option a list of all the nearby WiFi signals will appear. Select your network then enter your password using the on-screen keyboard. Then, simply save your settings and you’ll be off to the races!

If you are still having trouble connecting your Hopper to the internet, try resetting your modem as well. If resetting the modem and your Hopper still results in connectivity issues, you may have a hardware malfunction and should reach out to DISH for support directly.
